Suite Tenuta Nuova

Tenuta Nuova is the result of a project developed over three generations, and the name of a Brunello wine by Casanova di Neri. This is the reason why the Family has decided to honour the suite with a chest of drawers and kneeling-stool dating back to the 1600s, which belonged to Giovanni, the company’s founder.

Breakfast

Breakfast at the Relais offers homemade cakes from our patisserie, freshly prepared coffee, milk and tea, but also the baked Montalcino bread combined with a careful selection of cold meats and salami. Equally special are the jams made from our orchards, along with the sliced toasts, and the artisan yogurt. We are also happy to meet your needs if you have special dietary needs.

Not in the quite sweet and fleshy style this bottling is famous for, but suave and very well delineated, with the orange peel note providing inner-palate lift. “Tenuta Nuova has been produced since 1993. It represents Casanova di Neri’s ‘newer’ vineyard of Le Cetine in the southern reaches of Montalcino which boasts stony galestro soils. This manages the warmth and ripeness of the vintage with tremendous sophistication. Balsamic herbs, Mediterranean shrub, juniper and crushed stone overlay layers of focused, luscious currants and black cherries. A bit of an iron fist in a velvet glove – but much more velvet glove than iron fist. Finishes long and invigoratingly salty.”
